Why join?
We realized that there is a lack of collaboration and interaction between the many environmental organizations at UC Davis. ESSC was created to foster collaboration and mitigate boundaries restricting collective sustainability efforts. Our mission is to create a shared sense of community among all the environmental groups here at Davis to: identify and solve environmental issues, advocate for sustainability goals, collaborate with each other on events, and create opportunities for students.
How does this benefit you?
- We host a Discord server to connect environmental organizations with each other and students. All members of your organization are encouraged to join! It will, in the future, be open to the general student population as a hub to look for clubs they might be interested in.
- This forum will allow clubs to collaborate with each other to host events as well as advertise their events / themselves to prospective members.
- ESSC will host events throughout the year to further build collaboration among its members such as club leadership mixers and solve-a-thons.
- ESSC’s executive team is comprised of members from ASUCD’s Environmental Policy and Planning Commission (EPPC). We can help ESSC members navigate any logistical / administrative tasks that environmental organizations may have to deal with.
- EPPC can also help promote members’ events through official ASUCD channels.
- EPPC can also help if you would like to be connected to the ASUCD Senate to pass advocacy resolutions or receive funding for large events and projects.
